Angela Favazza graduated high school from the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and Arts where she studied piano with Dr. Patrick Widhalm. After receiving her Bachelor of Music from the University of Alabama under Amanda Penick, Ms. Favazza pursued one year of postgraduate studies with Betty Sue Shepherd at Samford University. She received her Master of Music and Artist Diploma from Texas Christian University where she studied with John Owings.

Ms. Favazza has won several prizes including 2nd prize - Birmingham Music Club Auditions, Winner - Music Festival of Arkansas Concerto Competition, Special prize - Nena Wideman Competition, Semifinalist - Steinway Society Career Development Awards and Semi-finalist - Heida Hermanns Young Artist Competition. As a soloist, she has performed recitals for Hardin-Simmons University (Abilene, TX), Copiah-Lincoln Community College (Brookhaven, MS), Louisiana School for Math, Science, and Arts (Natchitoches, LA), Tarrant County College (Fort Worth & Arlington, TX), NETAC Masterworks Series (Hurst, TX), Lord of Life Lutheran Church (Plano, TX), First Presbyterian Church (Midland, TX), Dallas Public Library Mu Phi Epsilon Series, the Fort Worth Contemporary Art Museum and Fort Worth Piano Teachers Forum. In 1999, she was invited to perform at Bass Hall on a special concert honoring Van Cliburn presented by the Sonneck Society for American Music. She has also performed with the Fort Worth Civic and Music Festival of Arkansas Orchestras. Internationally, Ms. Favazza has given solo performances at Oxfordphilomusica (England), The French Piano Institute (France), and Holland Music Sessions (Netherlands).

As collaborative pianist, Ms. Favazza has given concerts with renowned artists Tadeu Coehlo (flute), Timothy Ying (violin), and Jean Ferrandis (flute) and accompanied master classes by Midori, Yo-Yo Ma, and Carol Wincenc. She has served as Music Director and Pianist for Opera to Go at Lake George Opera (New York) and accompanied contestants at The Myrna Brown, Lennox, TMTA State Concerto contest and Fort Worth Youth Orchestra Concerto competitions. She is currently on the accompanying staff at Southern Methodist University.

Ms. Favazza is very involved in arts advocacy and in 2002, was selected as music ambassador for the District 5790 Rotary International Group Study Exchange program to Sao Paulo, Brazil. She has served on the Dallas Symphony Orchestra Education Committee (2013-2016), as Competition Chair for Dallas Music Teachers Association Dallas Symphonic Festival: String Division (2011-2014) and Piano Division (2017-present), and as Accompanist Coordinator for the Texas Flute Society (2006-2011). Her recent SMU concert with Jean Ferrandis was part of the 2017 French Cultures Festival sponsored by the French Consulate in Houston, TX.

Ms. Favazza also maintains a highly successful private studio of precollege students and has written for Clavier Companion. She is a frequent adjudicator for music associations in Plano, Mid Cities, Keller, Richardson, Fort Worth, Carrolton, and Southwest Dallas.
